Artist Biography

Maiangi Waitai is a Wellington based artist in Aotearoa New Zealand. She works primarily in painting, returning to the medium after years exploring three-dimensional and object-based forms. Her practice is guided by curiosity and the joy of discovery, finding meaning through the process of making itself.

Waitai completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Whanganui School of Arts in 1999 and has exhibited widely throughout Aotearoa.
